Who We Are
The Service User Reference Group (SURG) is made up of service user/survivor groups throughout Bristol, North Somerset,
South Gloucestershire and Bath & North East Somerset which are now covered by Primary Care Trusts.
SURG was set up to promote Effective Involvement and Meaningful Services within the service user/survivor community across
the old Avonwide community with representatives from service user/survivor groups.
Our Aims
We are open to groups/organisations representing service users/survivors of voluntary and statutory services. New elected
group/organisations' representatives welcome.

Newsletters
In 2007 SURG decided to produce a Newsletter to reach a wider service user/survivor community across Bristol, North Somerset,
South Gloucestershire and Bath & North East Somerset with information and contributions from the service user/survivor
community. The first newsletter was produced and distributed across the area in November 2007. The newsletters are being
produced on a quarterly basis.
We welcome contributions from individuals and groups. You can contibute information regarding mental health services,
upcoming events, poems, pictures etc. If you would like to contribute to upcoming newsletters, please contact SURG on the
details below for deadlines for the next newsletter.
