Crisis and Home Intervention Team

Bristol's Crisis and Home Intervention team provides intensive support for people in mental health crisis in their own home, or suitable alternative places.

The team's function is to provide prompt and effective home treatment, including medication, in order to prevent hospital admissions and give support to informal carers. It will also act as a "gatekeeper" to other mental health services such as acute inpatient care. Staff will be in frequent contact with service users, often seeing them at least once on each shift providing intensive contact over a short period of time. Staff remain involved until the problem is resolved.
