Suicide Prevention Training (ASIST)

 Length of course: 2 day

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is for people who want to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. ASIST is a two-day intensive, interactive and practice-dominated course designed to help caregivers recognize risk and learn how to intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.

Course aimed at:

Paid or unpaid staff providing a range of services who may have contact with individuals at risk of suicide including; health and social care workers; police; prison service staff;  drug and alcohol workers; counselors and therapists; student support services.  For evidence about the value of ASIST visit www.livingworks.net or Scottish NHS www.chooselife.net/training/ASIST

Venue / location St Werburghs Community Centre, Horley Road, Bristol BS2 9TJ

Cost of course: £25.00 per person - 

This course is being organised by the NHS Bristol. If you would like more information, please contact: Carole Roberts email Carole.Roberts@bristol.nhs.uk. There will be a cost of £25 for learning materials. Due to the high interest in this course, applications will be selected, prioritising those applicants who can apply suicide prevention skills directly in their work. Closing date for applications: 7th September.

In-house: £2,000  (maximum 30 participants) plus £25.00 per person for ASIST workbooks, handbook and certificates.
