Service User Reference Group (SURG)
This group is made up of representatives from service user and survivor groups in the old Avon area. They work to improve things for people involved with mental health services.
SURG aims to:
- empower service users and to get them involved - particularly with campaigning for a better service
- provide quality information on national and local mental health issues and services
- raise issues with mental health service managers and staff
- share ideas and views about what helps
- provide support and encouragement to groups that seek to improve services offered to people who experience mental distress
Who can join?
We aim to be as representative as possible. We are open to groups/organisations representing service users/survivors of voluntary and statutory services.

Newsletters
Newsletters are produced four times a year. We welcome contributions from individuals and groups. You can write about mental health services, upcoming events, poems, pictures etc. Please contact us about deadlines for the next newsletter.
