In Patient Advocacy

It can be hard to tell people you are concerned about your treatment while you are in hospital or while using any other mental health service.

Funded by Comic Relief, In-Patient Advocacy has now begun on wards at Callington Road and Southmead ( Mason Clifton and Weston Wards )Hospitals

Advocacy can provide the opportunity talk things through with an independent person non-judgmentally and with confidentiality . Advocates can listen to your opinion , offer guidance support and representation at meetings and with regard to formal procedures such as access to medical records , complaints and appeals.

Paul Turner an experienced Mental Health Advocate joined Bristol Mind in December 2004 to launch this project which provides advocacy to individuals with regular visits on wards at Callington Road and Southmead Hospitals
